Polus Center

I have worked as a volunteer with the Polus Center for Social and Economic Development since 1998. This small, Massachusetts-based human services agency has undertaken numerous projects aimed at improving the lives of people with disabilities in developing countries. Many of the people I have met and photographed have lost limbs or suffered other disabling injuries due to war, land mines, disease, and poverty. I have documented this work in Nicaragua, Honduras, Ethiopia, and Peru, Colombia, Jordan, Tajikistan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
